Diann M. Ackard, PhD, LP, FAED is a licensed
psychologist in private practice who specializes
in the treatment and research of mood and anxiety disturbances, eating disorders and body image
disturbances, and the sequelae to traumatic experiences.
Affiliations
In addition to my private practice, I hold positions as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN and as Research Scientist at the Melrose Institute at Park Nicollet, St Louis Park, MN.
Professional Membership
I am a member of the American Psychological Association, have been inducted as a Fellow to the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), and am a member of the Eating Disorders Research Society.
Community and Board Activity
I currently serve as on the Board of the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), managing the Membership Portfolio, and am co-chairperson and co-founder of their Trauma and Eating Disorders Special Interest Group (SIG).
In 2008, I was appointed to the Board for Break the Cycle, a non-profit group whose mission is to empower youth to end domestic violence. I also sit on the Advisory Board to the Aurora Center for Advocacy and Education at the University of Minnesota, a center focused on providing education, advocacy, and counseling to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, relationship violence, or stalking.
